Really good restaurant, good atmosphere and nice service (bravo to the students of this hotel management school)I spent a good time with the delicious food and dessert ! Good place to spend a wonderful night.

Brasserie Vatel

The location of the restaurant is relatively low-key, but it is better to find it in the city center. It is best to book in advance because the restaurant is not big, especially the Terrase outside in winter is not open. The taste of the food is very good, there is a star grade, and the price is quite reasonable. The overall environment and service are also good.

Excellent quality food, I would even consider it at the level of a Michelin starred restaurant. Very efficient and kind service and good advices for wine pairings

This restaurant is hidden away down an alley right in the old centre of Nimes.  Though very near the Arena it doesn&#39;t feel at all like an overpriced tourist trap, but rather a little local restaurant.  The service was super friendly and helpful.  The food was great - eggs mimosa, salade gourmande and the vegetarian plat du jour.  There is a really nice dessert and cheese buffet.  Round everything off with deux cafes and you have the makings of a perfect lunch.  &euro;47 for two of us which included 2 pressions and a glass of wine.  We&#39;ll be back!  (Maybe in the evening for some music!)

We were part of a group tour staying in West Nimes at a hotel with predefined dinners. I didn&#39;t want lasagna (!), I wanted French food.  So we walked over to this little place for dinner.  My daughter ordered a cheeseburger.  While they said she couldn&#39;t specify how it was cooked (e.g. medium rare) it was a perfect medium, pink in the middle.  My spouse ordered the duck.  It was the best duck I&#39;ve ever tasted, not greasy yet tender and juicy.  And while the skin was not crispy because of the sauce, it was not fatty.  I ordered the grilled beef.  I have no idea what cut of meat it was (undefinable shape), but it was tender enough.  I really liked their Charmelcia sauce which is on all their meats.  It went well with my beef and the duck. The salad was the same we seemed to get everywhere - just lettuce, with a very mild dressing.  I didn&#39;t translate that the fries are bottomless, the portion they gave us was plenty for the three of us.  For dessert, I ordered the Ananas chantilly (ou fraises).  I didn&#39;t bother to translate what it was, I thought it was bananas or strawberries (even though I know the word is &quot;bananes&quot;).  She said they didn&#39;t have strawberries (not in season in late June?) so I had the pineapple.  I would have preferred bananes, but it was refreshing.  Our server was pleasant and efficient.  She didn&#39;t speak much English (which I enjoyed) but with my limited French and hand gestures, we communicated just fine.  My family was glad I found this place, to have an authentic French dinner.  And you can&#39;t beat the &quot;Formule Unique&quot; fixed meal price of $15.90 Euros!

I had tendon de veau it was very bad, hard no sauce, the ravioli was cold.Very disappointed.We have been very good customers at the Vatel and always liked the buffetThe waitress was very apologetic

Tr&egrave;s bon accueil avec du personnel souriant et efficace. Comme c&#39;&eacute;tait le soir de mon anniversaire ils m&#39;ont m&ecirc;me improvis&eacute; une petite bougie et une petite chanson j&#39;ai appr&eacute;ci&eacute; ce geste qui m&#39;a touch&eacute;.Nous avons tr&egrave;s bien mang&eacute; dans une bonne ambiance.Vous pouvez y aller en toute tranquillit&eacute;.

Service un peu plus long que d&rsquo;habitude. Manque de fra&icirc;cheur (tartare de saumon) et eau .
